Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a procedure to correct the shape and size of the ears.

THE surgery AND TO WHOM IT IS ADDRESSED

Otoplasty is a procedure to improve the shape, position and anatomy of the ear, correcting defects in its structure that have been present since birth or have resulted from an injury.

Even small corrections can bring about significant improvements in appearance and psychology, with an incision hidden behind the ears and, if necessary, another smaller one.

In particular, otoplasty can correct large ears (macrotia), floppy ears (apical ears), curved and deformed ears (cup-shaped ears), small and atrophic ears (microtia).

The appropriate age for surgery varies, but in any case, the ears should be fully developed by the age of 4 years. Thus, the most common age of patients undergoing surgery to correct a morphological problem in the ears is 4-14 years old, without this meaning that older people cannot enjoy the huge benefits of aesthetic improvement in this part of the face.
